Hello, everyone and anyone who is reading this,
I am posting the second and final chapter of my RG2058 so far. Should I continue it? Your input below would be much appreciated.
"A Long Night
SLAM!
My door could’ve been wedged into the doorway for all I cared. I was fired up, and nothing was going to get in my way of righteousness. I could see it now: The elite who had taken a part in the series of horrors that had been happening my entire life, running for their lives. I, the one who is bringing salvation to those who have been oppressed, avenging the ones who have been killed… I’m almost drooling at the thought of the light at the end of this tight tunnel. I could set the world right by eradicating those who set it wrong!
But they’re still human beings.
They have families, some of them might even have children. What if those children grow up to become the ones who reverse the twisted, uncoordinated rotation of the world? What if I’m not the one who’s supposed to do this? What if they are? I would feel horrible if I smothered the possibility of a new world.
They still were a part of this mess.
The council’s children still would’ve gotten to be homeschooled. Their life is so much simpler than ours. They got their life all paid for them. They might become the next tyrants. They might continue with this problem. They need to be stopped.
I shake my head and bring myself back to the gray dimension known as reality only to realize that I am laughing with excitement and holding a piece of paper in my hand triumphantly while standing on my bed. Hm. Must’ve gotten carried away with my vision.
I realize that the only way to get anything done is to actually do it, so I sit down to continue with my planning of this rebellion-to-be.
This will take a lot of planning, but it will be worth it.
The first thing I need to consider is how many people I will need to lead this massive rebellion. Hmmmm… I could always use Laura.
Laura Aoki was an interesting character. Being raised in a strict Japanese family, she followed orders exactly how you wanted them when she meant business. On the other hand, she could be a kind, caring, and hilarious friend. There was very little emotional in-between for her. She had always been studying, working out, as well as practicing various martial arts and acrobatics. She was always practicing to make herself better than she already was. I never quite got it, how someone could work themselves to the point of pretty much human perfection and still attempt to improve themselves, berating themselves for not being the tip top of perfection.
I go to email Laura via the 20-year-old PearMod computer that my family had passed down to me. It’s pretty late now. It’s something like 22:56. Should I do this now or tomorrow? A sudden yawn and a heavy weight that has seemingly jumped upon my eyelids make it clear that the question I had just asked myself was a rhetorical one.
So much for an all-nighter.
----------------------------------------------------------
“All soldiers please keep to the right to allow a straight path for the officers.” The lady with the monotonous voice was speaking, once again. My fellow soldiers and I moved to the right in synchronization. I really don’t understand why the N.U.N addresses us as soldiers when we have no opportunity to move up the ranks as the officers do.
I’m standing in line with everyone else, when I notice out of the corner of my eye an officer in a blue cloth uniform with no holographic merit badges. Huh, that’s odd, considering the fact that all officers wear white, flexible plastic suits some sort of ranking identification badge on them.
All of a sudden, there was some rustling over the speaker. A desperate voice screamed through the speakers, that of a madman, driven insane.
“SAVE THEM! SAVE THEM ALL! SA-”
His voice muffled as heavy, quick footsteps entered the room. Probably guards.
The words of the desperate man rang in my head.
Save them…
Save them…
Save-
The RG. It was happening now. Suddenly, time seemed to freeze except for me and the blue officer. He started to walk towards me, then began to jog, and finally a full-out, seemingly speed-of-light sprint towards me. A light emanated from around him, as he suddenly blew into a giant orb of light and engulfed me, screaming to no avail.
-------------------------------
“HMPH!!”
I thought I had woken up from what was clearly a dream, but I was still there. I sat up, no, more jerked my torso off the ground to sit up. I rubbed my eyes, and what I saw confused me.
This was the N.U.N. office. The only time I’ve ever been in here was to answer to the N.U.N.’s punishment for killing an officer, and to recant my quote-un-quote, “harsh words.” I felt like such a coward, revoking the words that were supposed to show the N.U.N. what horrible bastards they had become. But they had the ShockLighters there. ShockLighters are powerful handheld devices that look like children’s toys, but pack a 20,000 volt shock to the human body, and shocking for more than 5 seconds at a time will paralyze, 10 seconds lose any form of consciousness, 15 seconds…
Death.
If you don’t answer to the ShockLighters, then you’ll answer to God, they said. They said that if you rebel against the N.U.N., then you go to hell. I wish I could tell them that if God really did exist, then he would’ve never let this mess of a world happen. If God did exist, then he would’ve stopped this, stopped the madness, and blown up the N.U.N.
I wish.
Looking around a bit more, I notice a hallway that I hadn’t noticed last time. Should I continue to lay down here? I thought. What if there are officers waiting to ambush me?
Should I or should I not…?
Dammit, curiosity!
I probably shouldn’t have gone, but I did. All of a sudden, I hear a jingling and something thumping in my pocket. I reach in, and feel a sudden zap. Of course my hand worked on its’ own and jumped out of my pocket.
“Ouch!” I almost yelled out loud, then quickly slapping my hand to my mouth. Footsteps ensue my sudden cry from behind the closed door that I had previously noticed. My heart rate significantly sped up. I attempted to get up, but to no avail. For some reason, my limbs were just spasming, not really doing anything contributing to my getaway. I was extremely anxious, and my heart was beating so fast it felt like it was going to stop extremely suddenly.
Suddenly, the door opened.
Everything swirls, and I am whisked away into warped darkness."
What did you think? Do you like it? Should I continue it?
I like it, but I have several projects going on at once right now, and was wondering which one I should finish.
Anyhow, as always
Thanks for reading!
