I have decided upon starting up a little section of this blog called, "Word of the Day", a section where I give a word, it's definition, and a quick story or sentence. So, without further to do, I introduce you to today's word of the day:
par·si·mo·ni·ous (parsimonious)
ˌpärsəˈmōnēəs/
adjective
- unwilling to spend money or use resources; stingy or frugal.
This word essentially describes someone who doesn't
To use it in a short story consisting of a simple paragraph, here is how one might use this word in a sentence or other context:
"Joe was just another homeless man on the streets of Boston. He wore the same grungy clothing as the other people in his homeless community. He acted just like all the others: Eager as soon as a pedestrian came by, along with the slight glimpse of hope that they might put some money in their little container. Many times this hope was crushed by many parsimonious passersby that refused to put in money or put in very little. This form of ignorance of the homeless was often followed by a nasty comment to further dishearten Joe and his homeless friends."
That was my story. Did you like it? Do you have your own short story? Shoot me a comment down below with your 1-paragraph story or short sentence using this word!
That will be all for now
Thanks for reading!
